Previous TBBT Projects

Some of the previous projects undertaken by The Bouncing Ball Trust are listed below.

Compassionate Programme

Our Compassionate Programme enabled local children to receive the education that they deserve. These children are from homes where parents struggle to feed and clothe them.  Between 2014 and 2018, thanks to our Compassionate Programme 30 children were able to attend Ngong Hillside Academy.

When they join the Programme each child received a tracksuit and a school bag filled with learning and writing materials.

In addition to supporting the children during school terms, we held Compassionate Programme Weeks during Easter, Summer and Christmas. This was a week-long Programme involving craftwork, playing games and day trips. At the end of the week, the Trust donated a food parcel containing flour, rice and cooking oil to their parents to sustain them through the holidays.

To celebrate Christmas, each child received a gift from The Bouncing Ball Trust of either a dress for girls and a shirt and trousers for boys.

Feeding Programme

In 2012, with financial support from friends in the UK, Chris Orman started a Feeding Programme for the children attending Ngong Hillside Academy. The aim of the Feeding Programme was to provide the children with a hot, nourishing meal at lunchtime. These lunches were often the only hot meal that the children receive during the week.

Responsibility for the Feeding Programme transferred to The Bouncing Ball Trust in 2014.  The aim of the Programme was to provide the children with a hot, nourishing meal at lunchtime. These lunches were often the only hot meal that the children received during the week.

The Feeding Programme has made a difference to the health of the children, leading to an improvement in their academic performance.

Reading Programme

We worked in partnership with the Teach A Friend to Read charity to roll out a one-to-one reading programme to the rural communities in Kajiado County, Kenya. The Reading Programme has made a real difference to the lives of Kenyans and empowered them to better their own and their communities lives.
